We hear from our new LA23NET Chair, Grant Seaton ahead of his first event of the 2018/2019 season.

I’m genuinely proud to be chairing such a vibrant, energetic and enthusiastic networking group – my only worry is how high the bar has been set with the Cumbrian puns in the LA23 News!
I felt like I was becoming a bit of a networking pro in and around Cumbria, and it was lovely to discover how LA23NET has managed to bring a new wave of enthusiasm to the networking scene.
I first dipped my toes into the LA23NET pool earlier this year, at the James Cropper paper mill event, and it hasn’t taken long to dive right in.
I put a lot of faces to names that day by meeting many people that I’d already connected with on LinkedIn, which is great, but you can’t beat a good old face-to-face catch up.
“Whether you’re the boss, collect moss, or understand profit and loss”, you’ll enjoy these events. I stole that from the LA23NET website, but I certainly can’t endorse another claim on there that you’ll be lucky to see me chairing an event in a kilt at some point!

I’m The Cumberland’s Senior Business Lending Manager. That’s much more interesting than it sounds, and means I get to work with businesses to help make their dreams come true.
I love being part of the Cumbrian business community, and would lastly like to raise a glass (in true LA23NET style) to Janett and Soph for organising a high quality and interesting programme of events and speakers. Cheers!

Grant is too modest to tell you this bit himself here but not only is he a tiptop Business Lending Manager, he is also currently completing no less than ten half marathons to raise £2126.46 which is a days support for the wonderful Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, Jigsaw.
